The poor dear's cookie got all broked on him! Saaaadz! All the little battie wanted was his nummy cookie...now what's a generic leaf-nose to do? He needs a hug.

This took an ungodly amount of time to finish for the simple thing that it is. I sketched the lineart in about 45 minutes or so on Halloween (so, I guess you could call this my late Halloween image for 2009?) because I was bored and wanted to draw a bat for some reason. I miss cuddling the real-life ones. Somehow it became a leaf-nosed bat. I'm not sure how, but it's cute, so I just went with it.

Then, I got busy and it sat there for a few days. I scanned it finally and--now to the longest part of the whole process--I "inked" the outline in Paint Shop using the freehand tool...since I can NOT for the life of my use that b-whatever curve tool. I tried. It was more effort than it was worth for this thing. So, it turned out kind of...crummy...but it was still cute, so I kept going. I slapped some fun colors on it...went to bed after a battle with insomnia...then finished it the next afternoon with a fun background so he wasn't floating in nothingness. Way too much work.

Tools used: sketched with 2B pencil, "inked" and colored with Paint Shop Pro 7
Time taken: Probably ~4 hours total? No idea.
